Saturday was truly history in the making for our sweet town.

For the first time in Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 7A history, Hewitt-Trussville High School brought home BOTH the softball and baseball state championships in the same year.

An incredible accomplishment. An unforgettable weekend. And now, it’s time for our community to rally behind one of the stars who helped make it happen.

Throughout the entire State Championship run, Harper Looney was absolutely unstoppable.

She finished with a perfect 6-0 record, throwing an unbelievable 447 pitches across 33 innings — including battling through innings played in a major downpour. Her grit, consistency, and leadership helped carry Hewitt-Trussville to the Class 7A State Championship, earning her the title of Class 7A State Tournament MVP.

Now, there’s another honor on the line.

Now she’s up for top overall performer from the entire AHSAA State Softball Tournament, and she needs our votes.

Let’s help our hometown girl bring home one more win.
